In September 2020, the State Council gave an official response to the work plan for the comprehensive pilot program to further open up the services sector in Beijing to help build a more open comprehensive demonstration zone for the services sector nationwide. In particular, the response highlighted support for Wangfujing Pedestrian Street as a pioneer to creating an international consumption environment and a quality business environment, as well as building an international consumption district. This is the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Wangfujing Pedestrian Street will fully leverage the policies related to the construction of the “two zones”. Government and enterprises will interact and work together comprehensively to jointly build the Wangfujing international consumption district, contributing to Beijing's effort to successfully build a consumption capital for the nation.
